The Premise

One night. One legend.
One impossible act.

Lorna León gave up the throne of the Caribbean’s most powerful rum dynasty for the life she chose: kitesurfing and running the Islands’ most beloved beach bar. When her mother reveals she is dying, Lorna steals the family’s magic mantle, convinced the miracle that once saved her can save Carolina. Hunted across the Islands, she follows its power beneath the sea, where the god of the Current offers her an eternity with no last call. To save her mom, Lorna must surrender the miracle.

Why This Film

A party, a myth, a miracle.

Lorna La Patrona is an original action fairy tale about a daughter trying to save her beloved mother and the belief that love means refusing to lose someone.

It celebrates the Caribbean through the sea, music, dance, architecture, humor, and ritual that shape the character’s lives.

The film moves through distinct worlds—Sno-Cones, Casa León, and the drowned paradise of El Rincón—plus a focused open-water unit. The result feels epic while remaining intentionally producible. The artwork in this deck reflects our intended screen language.

We are making an original theatrical adventure audiences will want to return to: joyful, mythic, and anchored by an unforgettable mother-daughter story.

We are seeking lead producing and packaging partners to help build the team and bring the film to the screen. Scope, locations, incentives, financing strategy, and production details are included in the Producer’s Supplement.

“Under the action and the myth, this is a love story between a mother and a daughter. Lorna isn’t trying to save the world. She’s trying to save the person she cannot imagine losing. To bring her home, Lorna must surrender the miracle.”Justin Blaney · Director
The Roles

The four roles that carry the film—two of them discoveries.

“Every character in the film is living inside a story they’ve told themselves: Lorna avoids. Carol protects. Imani performs. Mad monetizes. Rosario controls. The Current doesn’t judge, but it reveals their true nature.”Anya Blaney · Writer
LornaA STAR-MAKING DISCOVERYThe center of nearly every frame: host, athlete, fugitive, daughter. A physically demanding lead written for a fresh face—the kind of role a star is discovered in.
CarolTHE LEGACY STAR ROLEThe film's emotional authority, and its marquee role for a beloved veteran—warm, wry, and devastating. Her last act is not dying; it is telling the truth.
ImaniA STAR-MAKING DISCOVERYLorna's equal and opposite: drilled, proud, and—when the whole world is chanting for blood—finally merciful.
Mad MillionsA CAREER-DEFINING VILLAINHe preaches the truth—want everything, need nothing—and cannot live it.
